Palm Beach State College

Florida has the largest marine industry in the U.S., and Palm Beach County is a major hub with 800+ marine-related businesses. The demand for marine mechanics and service technicians in dealerships, boat repair shops and yacht maintenance facilities is high and continuing to grow. Palm Beach State College, in partnership with the American Boat and Yacht Council, offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to train marine service technicians according to industry standards and practices. Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations and extensive hands-on training in labs and on boats, students gain a full understanding of marine workplace practices, safety and organization. Utilizing the American Boat and Yacht Council entry-level standards and tests, the program prepares students to achieve ABYC student certification before graduation.
