Description

This online program is perfect for the person who is new to marine electricity. It will present the fundamentals of electrical theory as well as circuit types and designs. Test equipment including DVOM/Multimeter selection and use will be covered at length as well as interpretations of meter readings and what the implications and service procedures might be to eliminate problems. ABYC electrical standards that cover things like wiring, over-current protection, battery installation and wire termination are discussed in addition to shore power system basics and the standards that apply to them.

The program will also discuss the basics of marine corrosion. The types of corrosion are identified and how to measure for and mitigate corrosion related issues will be covered. Successful completers of this program will receive a certificate of completion and 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Basic Marine Electrical and Corrosion Mitigation includes 9 learning modules (see below).
