We are pleased to announce ABYC’s Interactive Online Standards Certification!

The course that has historically been only offered in a 3-day in-person classroom format is available 100% online in an LIVE interactive experience!

ABYC Lead Instructor Mike Bonicker, will lead LIVE course sessions, 3 days for 1 week (each 90 minutes long).

Online course access & resources will be provided through the Online Learning site. Access will be emailed prior to the course start date.

Certification Exam Testing:

At the end of the live webinar sessions you can take the ABYC Standards Certification exam online; you can take a proctored test one of two ways…

  1. Testing online through an online proctoring service, ProctorU (computer/laptop with a webcam is required)
  2. Testing online at your local library

Upon signing up for this Interactive Online Standards Certification course, let Casey Bates (cbates@abycinc.org) know which proctored testing option you prefer and I will provide more information.

 

Course Topics:

The ABYC Standards Certification course will provide the student with a comprehensive and focused look at the key ABYC Standards. Course discussions will address specific compliance issues relevant to engineers, installers, compliance inspectors, and marine surveyors. Common non-compliance areas will be discussed and how to address these issues in both the factory and field environment. Where it's relevant, US code of Federal Regulations (CFR) will be reviewed as they relate to ABYC Standards.

The course is designed for the marine professional with at least 3 - 5 years’ experience working in the industry.

The successful certification candidate should have some familiarity with ABYC standards and topics covered listed below.

    Certification Destinations:
    ABYC has created certification designation titles to better associate the type of work being done by the individual.

    Advisor Certification or Technician Certification titles will be assigned upon passing the certification exam.

    ADA Requests Students with ADA accommodations must inform the ABYC in writing of said needs at the time of class registration to ensure that any special accommodations can be made for exam taking. Students may use a calculator during the exam.

    Cancellation/Refunds Requests for cancellation and refund of a class registration must be submitted, in writing, no less than 10 days prior to the course start date. A $150 cancellation fee will apply. Refunds will not be considered for non-attendance. Cancellation requests may be emailed to Casey Bates at cbates@abycinc.org. Refunds will be issued within 30 days after the course end date.
