Description

This two-day, hands-on course is designed for the entry-level marine professional, marine surveyor, service writer, sales/customer service representative, and insurance personnel.

Course Objectives:

  • Educate marine industry professionals on application of current ABYC Standards to boats while conducting an initial inspection for service, condition and valuation (C&V) surveys, and insurance claims.
  • Writing and understanding a survey report with recommendations conveyed in a clear and concise manner, with the correct use of photo documentation in a complete report.
  • "Condition versus Compliance" - finding the balance between the standard and the boat you are evaluating.

Subject Boat: 1985 California 38 Convertible with inboard gas engines

Students can expect a mix of classroom and on-board learning. Students will inspect the subject vessel and evaluate it for compliance with current ABYC Standards.
