Jack Hornor celebrated life on the water as a sailor. He was a naval architect and marine surveyor with many ties to the recreational boating industry. Hornor was the founder and owner of Marine Survey & Design Company and was a mentor to many in the marine industry.
Jack had a passion for education that was passed down from his parents Dorothy and Audra who were career school teachers. This, and Jack’s deep interest and appreciation for the work of ABYC and the ABYC Foundation is the genesis for the Jack, Dorothy & Audra Hornor Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Students looking to enter into or continue their education in the marine industry are all eligible for funds as the program grows. Many ABYC Foundation Marine Trades Accreditation Program (MTAP) schools have committed to matching funds provided through this scholarship program.
