Associations Launch New Career Center
Annapolis, Md. - The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) announces the launch of its interactive career center, the Marine Industry Career Network (MICN). With its focus on marine industry companies, the MICN offers its members—and the marine industry at large—an easy-to-use and highly targeted resource for online employment connections.
“ABYC’s members consist of marine technicians, boat builders, and manufacturers who have gone above and beyond to build their skill set,” said Kevin Scullen, ABYC membership director. “The Marine Industry Career Network will help match up those looking for job with those who are hiring and have the same goal of maximizing customer satisfaction through safety standards for products, service and repair.”
The new interactive career center can be reached at www.abycinc.org/jobs. With its focus on marine industry companies, the career center offers the marine industry an easy-to-use and highly targeted resource for online employment connections.
Employers can post jobs online, search for candidates based on specific job criteria, and create an online resume agent to email candidates with matching profiles daily. Employers also benefit from online reporting that provides job activity statistics.
For job seekers, the career center is a free service that provides access to employers and jobs in the marine industry. In addition to posting their resumes, job seekers can browse and view available jobs based on their needs and save those jobs for later review, if they choose. Job seekers can also create a search agent to provide email notifications of opportunities that match their requirements.
Besides ABYC, the Marine Industry Career Network includes Boating Industry, Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and the National Marine Distributors Association. Each individual group will host a career center which will then feed into the larger network, delivering the industry's widest audience for employers and job seekers.
