Knowing what the meter readings you get actually imply and what service procedures might be needed to eliminate problems will also be covered as a part of this class. ABYC electrical standards that cover things like wiring, over-current protection, battery installation and wire termination will be covered at length. Shore power system basics will also be covered as well as the standards that apply to them.
The program will also discuss the basics of marine corrosion. The types of corrosion will be identified and how to measure for and mitigate corrosion related issues will be discussed. Successful completers of this program will receive a certificate of completion.
Course materials will be handed out during the first day of class. Students with ADA accommodations must inform the ABYC in writing of said needs at the time of class registration to ensure that any special accommodations can be made.
