The Maine Marine Trades Association is offering an ABYC Fast Trac Certification in Marine Electrical!
Take advantage of this self-study, review and testing for your opportunity to become ABYC Certified and save time and money.
Designed for those with a minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in the field of marine electrical design, service or installation. Students new to the marine electrical field should not consider this class but rather one of our Basic Marine Electrical Systems. The successful certification candidate should be familiar with all of the ABYC electrical standards, although the applicable standards will be reviewed as a part of the course. Candidates should have some pre-requisite background in Electrical fundamentals, AC Shore Power Systems, Cable Installation and Termination, AC Generators, Maintaining and Installing Battery Systems, AC Panel boards, Battery Charging Systems, DC Panel boards, Inverters AC Components, DC Components, and Safety Equipment.
THE SOONER YOU REGISTER, THE MORE TIME YOU HAVE TO STUDY and prepare for the review and exam. You will have access to your instructor Dwight Escalera throughout your study period for questions. You may contact him by email for your questions. The instructor's information will be sent to you upon paid registration.
You will report on the stated date and location at 8:30AM. You will bring all study materials with you. This test is an open book test using your provided study materials. Additional study materials to borrow are NOT available at the test site!
All exams are proctored and any candidate caught texting or behaving unethically during the exam will be ejected by the test proctor. Candidates ejected due to unethical behavior will NOT be entitled to any refunds.
Fast Trac Registration Fees: ABYC Members and MMTA Members $495.00 Non-members $750.00
ABYC reserves the right to cancel the Fast Trac based on enrollment. Please take this into consideration when making any travel or accommodation arrangements. ABYC will not provide any reimbursements for travel expenses. Anyone canceling after the registration is processed will be charged a cancelation fee.
