The
ABYC Standards Certification provides the student with a comprehensive and
focused look at the key ABYC standards. Class discussion will address
specific compliance issues relevant to engineers, installers, compliance
inspectors and marine surveyors. Common non-compliance areas will be
discussed and how to address these issues in both the factory and field
environments. Where it is relevant, US code of Federal Regulation (CFR) will
be reviewed as they relate to ABYC Standards.
Candidates
may reference all study materials including the supplied study guide (which
contains all pertinent ABYC standards integrated into the text), class notes
and additional ABYC standards in either printed or computer-based form during
the certification exam. The exam is timed and is comprised of approximately
100 multiple-choice questions.
Students
with special needs must inform the ABYC in writing of said needs at the time
of class registration to ensure that any special accommodations can be made
for exam taking. Students may use a calculator during the exam.
All
exams are proctored and any candidate caught texting or behaving unethically
during the exam will be ejected by the test instructor / proctor. Candidates
ejected due to unethical behavior will NOT be entitled to any refunds.
