Marine Systems Certification
This four day systems course will draw key information from 21 different ABYC Standards as they apply to boat component selection and installation. Best industry practices will be a part of the body of knowledge that a certified technician will be expected to be proficient in regards to Potable Water Systems, Waste Water Systems, Tanks, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, System Monitoring, Compressed Gas Systems for cooking and heating, Hydraulic Systems, AC and Refrigeration Systems, and Pump Systems. Each student is shipped a study guide upon registration. The class concludes with a 200 question certification exam.
The ABYC standards, ABYC study guide, and your class notes may be referred to during this exam. The current ABYC Standards are available to members on-Line via (WebStir), CD, or as a book. The use of laptop computers, calculators or mobile phones (with a calculator app) will be allowed during the exam, however anyone caught texting or engaging in any sort of photography during the exam will be immediately ejected from the class. Candidates removed from class for any ethical violation will not be refunded tuition or test fees.


All candidates need to supply their own #2 lead pencil for filling out the exam answer sheet. Standards specific to this certification, and that the certification candidate may want to review or have access to during the exam include: A-1, A-4, A-6, A-24, E-10, E-11, H-22, H-23, H-24, H-25, H-27, H-32, H-33, P-1, P-14, P-17, P-18, P-21-24, T-1, TH-22

Course Registration Fees: ABYC Member $885.00 Non-member $1,170.00

The ABYC reserves the right to cancel any and all classes due to lack of enrollment up to two weeks prior to the scheduled class start date. Candidates need to take this into consideration when making travel and lodging reservations. The ABYC cannot be held responsible for non-refundable airfare or hotel fees.
